When doing cardio, should we be paying attention more to our heart rate to control the intensity? For example, treadmill I tend to walk 2 minutes then jog for 3 to keep the heart rate between 65%-80% of MHR. Reason I do ask is I read a lot of 30 mins of cardio for example but nothing specific on HR control.

@Jeremy Roberts personnally, I pay attention to my maximum heart rate (177) only when I use the stairmaster. For the other cardio training (elliptical, treadmill etc) I rarely go above 120 👍. I don't do interval for cardio.
