On a totally random day a week or two ago, I decided to take the T up to Gym Hub. Work has been rough, and I needed to clear my mind. I had only been to Gym Hub once before, on Jay’s suggestion from one of his live chats on Facebook.
After the 25-minute ride, I walked into the gym, and as I went to put my stuff in the bins, I glanced to my right and saw Jay—earbud in, mic on his lapel—working out! I honestly thought it was a mirage or a cutout, but nope, it was the real deal.
I tried not to bother him since everyone handles fame differently. Long story short, Jay was awesome. We did a quick fist bump while he was on the phone, and later had a great conversation.
Then, to my extreme embarrassment, the bottom part of the leg extension machine I was using flew off! Jay was great—he asked management to take a look, and then we talked some more about supplements. He even ended up giving me the rest of his Pump product to try.
We’ve always known the guy is a class act, but meeting him in person and experiencing that was awesome.
I just want to say thanks, Jay, for being such an upstanding guy. And honestly, prior to the saying "Never meet your Heros" this is Defiently one of those heroes you want to meet in person!
AS for the Pump product, my arms were sore for 3 days! haha.
Thanks for everything Jay, cant wait to see you again at the Cutler Classic in Boston
